PARCEL Forum '19 Focusing on Enterprise Omnichannel Global ShippingPosted on October 22, 2019
From overseas manufacturers to the warehouse to the customer’s front door, just about every inch of the global parcel cargo chain is represented at next week’s PARCEL Forum '19 in Dallas, Texas, reflecting the growing interest in omnichannel shipping strategies.
Well, you know, with all that action going on, Pierbridge sure wasn’t going to be missing out on the fun.
In the spirit of emphasizing links in the cargo chain, we will be sharing Booth #416 with Microlistics, our sister company in the WiseTech Global group and leading warehouse management system software provider that is showcased in Gartner’s magic quadrant. Microlistics will be featuring its highly configurable solution that is perfect for medium to large enterprises and 3PLs, especially those focused on managing refrigerated goods supply chains.
During the show, Pierbridge Managing Director Bob Malley will be participating in an on-floor interview with PARCEL Magazine Editor Amanda Armendariz, sharing insights on the shifts and changes he sees from the growth in cross-border shipping and also some of the regulatory changes that are expected to open up the market even further for freight forwarders and customs brokers. Bob will also explore these trends in the International Workshop hosted by Krishna Iyer.
Microlistics isn’t the only Pierbridge partner that we will be visiting with at the show. Part of the value of the show is to catch up with partners, customers, and industry leaders to get a pulse of what is happening in the logistics and shipping world.
Among the 50 Sessions, 14 Learning Pods, and five Workshops packed into the three days of the show, is a session by our partner Labelmaster, with whom Pierbridge has done several joint webinars on dangerous goods and omnichannel shipping challenges and opportunities.
Labelmaster’s Vice President of Software & Customer Success, Mario Sagastume, will be speaking about “Hazmat: What You & Your Customers May Not Know You Are Shipping” on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 9 am.
During the 50-minute session, Sagastume will concentrate on some of the hidden hazmat items that shippers don’t realize they include until it is too late. This is becoming even more important as retailers deliver from an endless aisle and have more hands shipping packages which may not be as well-versed in the ins-and-outs of dangerous goods, as we discussed here.
Omnichannel shipping is changing the global cargo chain, and sometimes to get a grasp on trends and opportunities, it takes leaving the office for a few days to meet with other industry professionals. While you’re in Dallas next week, be sure to drop by and visit us at Booth #416 to see how Transtream TMS helps you manage your enterprise-level global cargo chain through the last inch, from wherever you are shipping to wherever you are shipping.
